It's July, somehow...

and I still haven't asked you for tea.

It's too warm for tea now

and maybe we're too old for ice cream”

JUST KIDDING ~ there is no such thing as too hot, too old or too old!

A Beautiful Traditional Cherry Farm Table

We had the pleasure of creating this beautiful table for a sweet family in Bedford MA and she so graciously sent a photo of it in her home with her darling babies seated at it! I absolutely LOVE moments like this :)

This table features a hand planed Cherry top with leg style #8 base, breadboard ends and a pair of Company Board Extensions. The table is finished with our Aged Cherry hand rubbed OIL finish.

A beautiful table for a beautiful family!

Capturing My Dreams

Overhead in the clear blue sky the swallows fly on silent wings, the clouds float by, lazy in the summer heat they move west to east meandering wherever the upper level jet stream takes them, beautiful white vagabonds that roam the skies in free~form artistry.

Below me the water tumbles and falls through the crevice it has created, the water droplets dance and leap as they break free of the water surface’s tension, rising and falling, once again becoming a part of the river’s flow, coursing ever onward to the sea.

With silken threads a spider has spun her web, it catches a downy white feather, holding it suspended as if it has stopped the hands of time and the gravitational pull of the earth, beautiful weaver of the most delicate lace.

A heron fishes, patiently and silently on the far side of the river, so still he seems unmoving but he is alert and ever watchful. I doubt his beauty for an instant until I clear my preconceived notions and see his wonderfulness for what he is. And he is beautiful.

Green Darner dragonflies fill the air with their ethereal beauty as the fly on gossamer wings above the rushing waters, settling silently on sun warmed boulders, wings out stretched capturing the solar energy as well as my heart.

The ebon wings, folded as if in prayer, above shining iridescent, slender bodies of the Ebony Jewelwings, fill me with all sorts of delight, even their name fascinate me and their appearance only enhances the captivity of my mind.

A Long-tailed Weasel hunts along the garden path, he pops in and out of the ground cover, a bundle of energy that never sits still. His summer coat, a sleek rich brown with light colored undersides, shines in the afternoon sun. A gorgeous but fearsome hunter.

A fat little groundhog waddles through the side yard, slow and unhurried, taking the time to sniff the warm summer breezes to see which way they may blow, what else does he learn through his olfactory senses? Far more than I shall ever know. He is so darling, and the oh so, very opposite of Mr. Weasel.

Maple seeds fall by the thousands, a pair of pods with a pair of wings. I pick a few off the woodland path and one of my favorite dreamy quotes floats through my mind ~

“I want beautiful things,

And a pair of wings

And on this July day I can truly say I have captured my dreams and even held them in my hands…

 Happy July!
