From my earliest memories Black~capped Chickadees have been a part of my life, even still to this day when I hear one sing his song, all is well with my soul. One night early in the Spring I sat down to start drawing this Chickadee, it all came together and he emerged one pencil stroke at a time, until layer upon layer he came to life and his eye shone back at me. I imagined him flying free, taking a part of my heart upon his wings....
